- A wa.me link is WhatsApp's official click-to-chat URL: https://wa.me/<number> opens a chat with that number in the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp Web, and ?text= prefills the first message. It works for any WhatsApp account — personal, Business app, or Business API.
- What number format does the link need?
- The number in international form with no plus sign, spaces or dashes. A Malaysia number written 012-345 6789 becomes 60123456789: country code 60 in, the leading 0 out. This tool does that for you.
- Can I see which placement a chat came from?
- Yes. Add a source such as “Instagram bio” or “flyer” and the tool appends “(via Instagram bio)” to the prefilled message, so the first message tells you where the customer clicked. Inchat's growth links go further and count clicks per link.
- Does the link work if the customer has no WhatsApp?
