Getting it right
Say what happens. “Chat with us” or “Ask about delivery” beats a bare icon: people click when they know who answers.
Prefill the context. The snippet tags the message “(via website)”, so the first line of every chat already tells you it came from the site, before you have asked anything.
Keep it out of the way on mobile. Bottom-right is the convention; move it to the left if your theme has a cart button there.
Questions
- Does it need a plugin or JavaScript?
- No. The snippet is one HTML link with inline styles and an inline SVG icon. Paste it before </body> in any theme or page builder that accepts custom HTML and it works — nothing to install, nothing that can be blocked.
- Does it work on Shopify, WordPress and Wix?
- Yes. Shopify: theme.liquid, before </body>. WordPress: a footer HTML block or the theme's footer.php. Wix: Settings → Custom code → Body end. EasyStore and other builders: their custom HTML / footer code box.
- Where does the chat go?
- To WhatsApp, via a wa.me click-to-chat link to your number with the prefilled message you set. On a phone it opens the app; on desktop, WhatsApp Web.
- Can it open a chat window on the page instead?
